Beautifully Blended Bordeaux

Thank you so much to the CIVB and @BordeauxWinesUk for the invitation to join a wonderfully enjoyable and enlightening blending session in London. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in and around wine, there’s always something to learn! And during this session, hosted by the fabulous Abbie Bennington and Mathieu Huguet, we were able to not only taste and learn the individual characteristics of each of the main red grape varieties grown in Bordeaux, but also have a go at becoming master blenders ourselves. It was so much fun and out of it came my very special 2022 Merlot & Carménère cuvée – which is going down into the cellar for a few decades.
