FAQs

Who can purchase age-verified products from Lacbleu?

We are currently licensed by Hammersmith & Fulham Council to sell alcohol to retail customers in the UK. We are not part of the AWRS scheme and are therefore not licensed to sell alcohol to businesses or wholesalers, unless it is for personal use - i.e. we can not supply wine to anyone who intends to resell it.

It is possible to deliver wine to a commercial address, however the recipient must be buying for private consumption.

All customers must be aged over 18 years old to purchase any alcohol in the UK and our store is no exception. In addition, ParcelForce will age-verify all deliveries to ensure that are made legally.

For non-wine, dangerous goods orders (e.g. bladed products) these too will be sent via Royal Mail using an age-verified service.

In both cases, if nobody over the age of 18 is available to receive the delivery, it may be returned to us.

Which countries do you deliver to?

Lacbleu Wines is currently only licensed to sell wines for domestic shipping - i.e. within the UK and Northern Ireland and excluding the Channel Islands.

If you would like to ship an order to outside of these geographies, please get in touch and we will do our best to help, although inevitably there will be additional duties and freight charges.

How much is delivery?

Standard delivery is free for all orders, no matter how large or small.

Occasionally, where wine needs to be shipped immediately, we will can use a same-day courier (e.g. Uber Connect or Addison Lee) and you will be charged the cost of the additional service.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, along with other payment intermediaries like Klarna (please see note above with regards to Klarna deliveries).

Payments are handled by Shopify directly and Lacbleu Wines will never see, receive or store any credit card details.

When will my order be shipped?

All orders are usually processed and fulfilled within 2 working days, but often it's quicker. The delivery date range that you will see when checking out is generally the latest date that your package will arrive.

If you need delivery to be expedited, we may be able to do that for you - please get in touch at hello@lacbl.eu and we'll always do our best to help out.

We use a ParcelForce express48 tracked service for wine orders, which means that your order will arrive within 2 days after shipping. For non-wine orders we generally use a Royal Mail Tracked48 service. In both cases, you will receive an email with full tracking details as soon as the order has been fulfilled.

Split Orders

Please note that large orders might be split into multiple deliveries. For example if you order 8 bottles of wine, usually you will receive a case of 6 and a separate mini-case containing the remaining two bottles.

Where an order contains both wine and non-wine items, they might be fulfilled separately and ship via different couriers. This is because there are some strict regulations around how some items must be packaged for the mail networks.

Which courier do you use?

We use Royal Mail ParcelForce to safely and ship all of our wine orders, and either Royal Mail or EVRI for non-wine orders.

Can I track my item?

Yes , of course. Every order is sent using a fully insured, trackable service.

However, if you order from us directly then you will receive both an email from us directly containing the tracking numbers, as well as being able to follow your order using the Shop app, which you can download from your preferred app store.

How will my wine be packaged?

We hate broken bottles as much as you do, but we also dislike endless bubble-wrap and waste.

So, after extensive research, we have partnered with pioneering Flexi-Hex packaging to ship all of our wine. In fact, the packaging is cutting-edge that Lacbleu Wines were the first wine company in the UK to gain Royal Mail certification for its use for shipping glass bottles in their network.

Not only does it provide unparalleled protection for wine bottles, but the packaging is plastic-free and made up from
over 85% recycled paper pulp. It is entirely recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable - including the adhesives, which are made from water-based PVA.

Non-wine orders are also shipped in plastic-free, cardboard packaging.

What is your online returns policy?

Nobody likes having to return items and so we really try to make it as painless as possible.

Wine Items

If you are not completely happy with the wine that you have received, you can return it to us within 30 days of receipt.

We would recommend re-using the packaging that your wine came in as it is very high quality and will protect the bottles during transit. If you no longer have the packaging, please contact us and we will send you a replacement box for return shipping.

It is generally not possible for retail customers to send larger volumes of liquids through courier networks. So, after you have requested a refund and you have satisfactory packaging, we will arrange for ParcelForce to
come and collect the wine from your chosen UK address at our expense.

Non-Wine Items

In the case of non-wine items, all we ask is that you have proof of purchase and that the goods are, where reasonable, returned in their original resalable condition - i.e. the labels are intact and nothing is purposefully damaged.

Depending on where you live and what is most convenient for you, a different courier might be used from the one originally used. We will work together with you to ensure that you have the correct labels, etc.

Lacbleu Wines will cover the cost of returning your goods to us - either by us sending you shipping labels or, in case you pay for the shipping, we will refund this amount to your original payment method.

In any case, your statutory rights, as well as high-level of protection offered by the UK's distance selling regulations remain completely unaffected by the above policies.
