Emile Henry
To prepare cocktails, spice your dishes (safron, cumin), make sauces (aioli, pesto, Thai sauce), opt for a historic utensil that bears the values of simple, healthy and natural cooking: Emile Henry mortar.
Our mortar will tackle all types of textures. It is used to grind nuts, herbs, spices and above all their flavours. The pestle will crush and bring out all fragrances without distorting the texture of the product.
Unlike the mixer, the mortar will not heat up your ingredients and the manual grinding will avoid getting a little sticky material.
Small tip: put your mortar cool before use, so the ingredients will remain fresh and will not black during preparation.
Made of ceramic, healthy and natural material, our mortar is heavy enough not to flicker during pilling, but still light enough for you to handle it easily. Plus, you will notice the 4 curved corners of the outer edges which have been specially designed to make it easier to hold it in your hand.
The aesthetically pleasing pestle features an ergonomic beech handle and a ceramic end that is quite heavy enough to bring more power when grinding and therefore takes less effort.
The inside of the mortar is non-enamelled and non-porous which has several benefits:
The inside of the Emile Henry mortar is well round and smooth, for the most effective use. The result will be uniform as you can easily crush all the ingredients. Cleaning is also easy.
The outer edges are rounded at the corners, to form small handles that will facilitate the handling of the mortar.
